California Diary – Tuesday, 22.04.2014 (San Francisco)

Today we headed to Chestnut Street on bus No. 30 and met a really nice friendly and funny female bus driver who talked to us all the way. Mama did some serious shopping at Gap and Linda at Brandy Melville. After 2 hours we walked to and down Lombard Street and then went to Pier 33 to be ready for our ferry to Alcatraz. After arrival a ranger gave us a short introduction and we saw a film in the auditorium before we started our self-guided cellhouse audio tour. It was great – one of the must dos while in SFO.

Back at the hotel the maid had left a nice message thanking us for the tip. We enjoyed a wine tasting in the club lounge before moving on for dinner in Chinatown.

QOTD: ‘Hi tourists!’ (The bus driver immediately shouted at us when entering the bus.)
